Perhaps you have heard the analogy about a birth woman being like a driver? It got me thinking...what if 'birth types' were cars? What would a hospital birth look like? or a home birth? What about a C Section?
The Public Hospital

This is your standard hospital experience. Lots of stops, passengers coming and going, asking the driver questions, checking the timetable, grumbling if the bus is 'running late'...You can limit driver interruption by putting up "don't talk to the driver" signs and enlisting a conductor to deal with the passengers.
The Private Hospital

Someone else at the wheel, Champagne on tap, the promise of luxury and smooth ride...The Private Hospital birth must be a limo. Set timing, the chauffeur aims to get you to your destination 'on time'. There is often a chef made meal, with candle light, once you get there.
The Birth Centre

Birth Centres pride themselves on the home-like set up they offer, whilst still having all the bells and whistles. So a motorhome seems a good choice here. You can still drive it yourself, calling the shots, and there is no set timing.
The C Section

Perhaps an obvious choice, but I don't recommend staying in the drivers seat for a caesarean...so an ambulance is the go.
The Homebirth

In your own space, relaxed and supported. This birth type must look like a kombi van! Not many choose this option, but many like to imagine it.
The Fast Birth

No room for extra passengers...you are powerful and in control. No unnecessary additions, it's all about the awesome performance.
